It all begins with them… our kindergarteners! Providing our kindergarten students with emergent books that they can hold and manipulate is vitally important at this age!
Learn more about these amazing books that are carefully designed to provide early literacy skills including: appropriate return sweep, finger spacing and illustrations of essential sight words.
Help young learners begin reading and writing in our new learning environment, the RCS Virtual Campus!
Dear RCS community,
My name is Mrs. Taylor Newton.
On behalf of our kindergarten students attending the RCS Virtual Campus, we are seeking your help to raise enough funds to provide all enrolled kindergartners with a set of the emergent “short books” that are carefully designed and essential to learning how to read and write.
The Series 1 First Words is a set of 23 books designed to provide appropriate return sweep, finger spacing and illustrations of 27 common sight words.
This is my proposal’s compelling why… ♥
As Neil Gaiman once said: “A book is a dream that you hold in your hands.”
This project will impact the lives of all of our kindergarten students attending the RCS Virtual Campus as it will allow them the opportunity to have tangible books to hold and read!
This project will help us reach our goal of growing students into avid readers.
In light of the pandemic, this is an incredible way for us to allow our students to stay connected with books that they can touch, study, and read at home!
These are great resources in addition to the wonderful leveled books they are receiving online.
Your support and a Series 1 First Words set, will help our students stay on track and nurture their love for reading!
