Hello! My name is Ms. Deanna Knox.

I am an ELA Teacher at Reuther Middle School. I am seeking your help to raise enough funds to purchase enough nonfiction books to fully operate the newly approved book clubs!

With book clubs (anywhere from two to four students), students need to be reading the same nonfiction text, so multiple copies of titles are imperative to the success of the unit.

This is my proposal’s compelling why…

Nonfiction reading skills impact nearly every academic subject area, so implementing this unit fully, as intended, will have a tremendous benefit.

Students will gain background knowledge in multiple subjects while also gaining confidence and skill in how to tackle unfamiliar expository text!

♥ This is where you can help! ♥

Help us reach our goal!

The school’s media center budget is unable to currently support the purchase of the number of nonfiction books required to fully operate book clubs for “The Power of Nonfiction” unit in ELA6 classrooms.

With your support, multiple copies of nonfiction titles from high-interest topics (many titles suggested by the Lucy Calkins’ Unit of Study “Tapping the Power of Nonfiction”) will be purchased and immediately help all current and incoming 6th graders.

Thank you for your consideration!

Any donation is appreciated!
