Here is a little more about me and my proposal…♥
I am an Information Literacy Specialist at Stoney Creek High School and my media center impacts ALL of the students in the school.
There is nothing more fulfilling than connecting students with the right book.
I hear often from a student that they don’t like to read and it makes it even more important to me to find them something that will encourage them to read. Other students find refuge in the media center and read as much as they can.
It is important to me to ensure that they are finding reading material that they love.

Our goal is to increase the number of books within our graphic novel section in our media center!
We have a very small graphic novel section and when a class comes in to check out books, this particular section is wiped out.
My goal is to expand this section and include titles that would appeal to more readers. Our low readers, special education students, reluctant readers, and our creative students are often drawn to this section.
Within this section, students can find the classic graphic novels, super heroes, popular titles, self-help, history, science, and other topics. Due to the graphic nature of the printing, these books are often more expensive.
