Hope comes from a community of caring!

Partnerships are critical for success.

Dear RCS community,

The Rochester Community School District is part of a treasured community, where partnerships between families, schools, and businesses are integral for student success.

With the constant changes in our world, especially in our current environment, children feel most supported when their family at home and their school family are working together.  The RCS Foundation works with the district to support the whole child—academically, socially, and emotionally.

United during and after the pandemic

As we plan for the new school year and what it will look like, together we can ensure all children have access to the same resources.

This is where you can help!

Help us reach our goal and support every student!

Your support with funding resources to equip this new way of learning and living will prepare students to be resilient, and help them achieve social and emotional wellness through vigilance, learning and community care.

Please join us in our efforts to help keep student learning equitable and ensure all students are properly equipped, prepared and confident to return to school.

Any donation is appreciated!

Your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate $5 or $500. Every little bit helps! Thank you for your consideration!

This is Where Your Donation Will Go:

  • Chromebook cases (Minimum of $350,000)
    • RCS continues to invest in technology to enhance student learning.
    • RCS will be providing 1:1 device (every student, returning in-person and virtually, will receive one computer Chromebook device)
    • Over 15,000 Chromebook cases will be needed to provide each student with one to protect the device from any damages.
    • Chromebook cases bought in bulk average $19.99/case. Generally they cost anywhere from $17-$35.

RCS will follow the requirements in the MI Safe Schools Roadmap. As we mitigate risk of COVID-19 spread, the RCS Foundation is seeking support in efforts to help RCS focus on:

  1. Personal Protective Equipment
  2. Hygiene and
  3. Spacing and movement

Personal Protective Equipment

In phase 4, facial coverings are required for: all staff; pre-K-12 students in hallways and common areas; students in grades 6-12 in classrooms; k-5 students in classroom unless they remain with cohort throughout the day with no close contact with other classes; and all people on buses.

  • Washable cloth face masks (minimum $60,000)
    • RCS will supply disposable masks.
    • Goal: Providing three (3) washable cloth face masks for each student upon re-entry.
    • Bulk purchase – Box of 50 averages $170

In phase 4, schools will be required: to provide supplies including soap, hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol, paper towels, tissues and informational signs.

With 13 elementary schools, 4 middle schools, 3 high schools and an alternative high school, supplies will consistently be depleting. With your support, we can make sure we are never in a position where we need to wait for funding to be released to purchase more supplies.

  • Supplies to protect all students and staff within the buildings (i.e. disposable masks, soap, hand sanitizer, paper towels, tissues wipes): $150,000
    • The safety of our students, staff and community are always our priority.

When the pandemic is over, we have to consider the mental health impacts of re-entry. Social-emotional wellness of students and staff are essential!

Training session and webinars would be presented in a partnership with the Center for Trauma Resilient Communities.

  • Our long-term vision is to have a clinician in every school so all children can get the social-emotional support that is needed.
  • 3rd party payment processing fee
  • Fulfillment labor & materials

Total Projected Goal   $500,000
